Welcome to Wall Paintings for the 2020s

This site replaces and builds on the Medieval Wall Paintings website, which was created by Dr Ellie Pridgeon in around 2011.

Dr Ellie Pridgeon is a researcher in medieval and post-medieval wall paintings in the UK and beyond. She currently teaches for the University of Leicester, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Leicester Vaughan College, Pro Artium, and WEA. She has published widely in field of medieval and post-medieval wall paintings.

Ellie works in conjunction with medieval wall painting expert Dr Miriam Gill and with medieval sculpture expert Dr Conny Bailey. Together they are co-founders of Pro Artium – the organisation that delivers talks and lectures in museums, universities and other heritage organisations.
